Postdoc in the group Airborne Measurements and UTLS Transport Processes, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Hoor.

Research Interests

Air mass exchange across the tropopause, interhemispheric differences of dynamics in the lower stratosphere

Research tools

Trace gas fluxes, slope analysis, airborne measurements (WISE 2017, SouthTRAC 2019)

Research in a nutshell

I am interested in the tropopause region, where large gradients in various atmospheric quantities occur.
By using trace gas measurements and analysing correlations and fluxes I study the transport processes that govern the composition of the layers around the tropopause, the UTLS. With in-situ observations from both hemispheres, WISE data from the North Atlantic region and SouthTRAC data from South America, I investigate interhemispheric differences in these transport processes.
